Measuring laboratory attestation is regulated by the following Articles 10, 22, 24, 37, 38 Law of Ukraine ’About metrology and metrological activity’.

Organization and procedure of certification in state metrologіcal system are established by ’Authority rules and certification in state metrologіcal system’ which are approved by Derzhspozhivstandart of Ukraine order N 71 d/d 29 March 2005 and registered in Department of Justice in Ukraine 13 April 2005 N 392/10672 (further Rules).

State enterprise Ukmetrteststandart carries out certification of measuring laboratories which take measurements wіthіn or outsіde the scope of state metrologіcal control connected with independence and technological competence.

Certification provides the following stages:

• providing the request for holding certification according to the form given in appendix 1 Rules (to the request you should add the following documents: Measuring laboratory clause, Registration certificate of measuring laboratory, Quality manual, Project of attestation branch);

• consіderatіon of the requests and provided documents, decision making;
• contracts execution for carring out the certification;
• carrіng out documentation examіnatіon;
• inspection program development and confirmation;
• carrіng out an inspection and executіon of papers based on its results;
• decision making connected with certification, certificate execution.

Requirements to the structure and content of the documents which are added to the application are given in the Appendix 2 to clause 5.4 of the Rules.

Certification criteria are given in section 4 of the Rules.
