Ukrainian methodical center for conformity acknowledgement and testing of food products (hereinafter Center) is authorized by the State to realize the state policy in the sphere of conformity acknowledgement (certification) under the vested nomenclature, assist in improving of quality of domestic products and its launch to the international markets as well as consumer’s protection, his life, health and environmental protection.

Center performs conformity acknowledgement (certification) and testing of wide scope of products, including:

• food products and food raw materials;
• tobacco and industrial tobacco substitutes;
• perfume and cosmetics products;
• hair preparation;
• surfactants, washing agents (including auxiliary detergents) and cleaning agents with or without soap;
• tableware and porcelain kitchenware;
• tableware and ceramic kitchenware (including faience);
• bottles, flasks, jugs, pots, jars and other containers for storage of packing of goods, glass cans, glass fuse-plugs, stoppers, caps and other cork up means;
• tableware and glass kitchenware;
• tableware and kitchenwareof ferrous metals (including enameled and stainless steel);
• tableware and kitchenwareof brass, German silver, white copper with chrome, nickel, gold or silver coat;
• products made of polymeric materials for packing of food products;
• toys, games, products for holidays, carnivals, including New Year’s Eve.

Center is to be the unique methodical center on conformity acknowledgement of food products and food safety management system HACCP and control of presence and content of GMO in food and cosmetic products.

By the Order of Derzhspozhyvstandart of Ukraine of 24.06.2009 № 231 Center is appointed to be methodical center on conformity acknowledgement (certification) of toys according to the Technical regulation on toys safety and by the Order of Ministry of industrial policy of Ukraine of  01.04.2009 № 250  is appointed to be consultative and methodical center on organization of works with respect to the requirements of Technical regulation on toys safety, providing consultation and guidance to application of Technical regulation.

The specialists of Center have developed the National standards on toys safety, which in case of their voluntary attachment can be the proof of products conformity with the requirements of “Technical regulation on toys safety”.

Center includes:

• scientific and technical department for products certification;
• scientific and research center for products testing;
• department for methodical work and quality assurance;
• service of hygienic evaluation of products.
